Fotographic Frenzy!

Hey! So I'm back with some good and some bad news. I would ask which one you prefer first, good or bad, but that doesn't really seem possible :P. So bad news (I like to finish upbeat): I'm struggling to get the photographer I want. I won't mention any names, but I've been contacting him over the last 2 months about booking him for the big day. However, he has a friend who is getting married in August, but she hasn't picked a day yet. Therefore, he won't book my wedding until he knows about theirs. He is just as frustrated as I am, as it is causing him business and me stress :(. And if any of you know Fort St. John, photographers are slim pickins. He is calling me with a list of other photographers tomorrow, but I have this fear that these guys won't be as good. And if there is one thing I won't comprise, it's my wedding photos. As you can see, I'm at a loss. So there's the bad news.
Good news! I have the officiant booked, as well as the church. I'm super excited about that because it's the church I grew up in and am a member of. Even though I have to decorate around burnt orange pews resembling the era of Madonna's prime, I think it will still be fabulous!
Also, I received great news that my friend is able to fly down in 2 weeks, along with my mother, to take me dress shopping! I have no idea what I want, but I'm willing to try almost anything... except an A-line ballgown with beading. I hate beading. No offence to Carly, your dress is the exception ;)

So, since this is my first blog, please forgive me for my ranting, raving, anger, and frustration. However, with wedding planning in the mix, those elements may be incorporated several times throughout the next 10 months.
So to give some information about myself, I have recently got engaged, as of 3 days ago. We aren't the traditional mushy, gushy couple, so the proposal was simple and fun. My fiance (that's fun to say) and I are living in the Lower Mainland, but the wedding will take place in Fort St. John, which, if you know your geography, is significantly far away on August 21, 2010. My parents are down for the weekend, so the planning is underway.
I have been planning this day for about the last 13 years, but I'm only 18. Go figure. So before the proposal, I thought I knew exactly what I wanted, BUT now I have no idea where to start. I guess I've got ten months, but from what I'm told that goes by rather quickly.
My mom is a genius when it comes to hosting events, decorating for them, and all in all, keeping me sane. My future in-laws are also incredibly helpful, and doing a great job of keeping me stress-free.... for now.
So anyways, on to my first overwhelming experience. My first day of shopping was yesterday, and to my dismay, much more chaotic then what I expected. Mind you, to the average person it wasn't wild at all, but my mind was turning approximately at 1,000,000 km/h. We were very successful in choosing what was priority, which turned out to be my mother's attire and invitation supplies. So I guess you could say, we are a bit unorganized for now, but hopefully, things will come together!!
Feel free to add any helpful suggestions!
