Whimsical W[o]nderings

Just to warn you, nothing spectacular in this post. I just felt like updating my blog. So please, join me in wasting just a few moments of your life :)
So my bridesmaids and I have developed a few 'crafty' ideas for our programs. We are thinking (drum roll please) paint chips! Ok, so you are probably thinking "I just injured my knuckle on the table because she asked to do a drum roll... and that was the big surprise?!" Well, you are correct! I thinks it definitely creative and worth a shot. We just have to figure out how to get the words onto the paint chips... Hmmm
In other news, we may have had a break through in the matter of finding junior bridesmaid dresses! By collectively collaborating to reach a cunning compromise (too many c's, I get it), we may have found a possibility. It fits with my fun and whimsical theme, and I'm rather excited about it.
So that's about it for now. I'm hoping you are semi-glad you read this entry, but if you're not, I understand.
PS- (although this has nothing to do with the wedding) I saw the sneakiest wedgie pick today...

The deed is done! The dress has been found, everyone! So, here's the story seen through my eyes:
(2:00p.m. Thursday afternoon) I think, "Baahhh! Why am I still in class?! The sun is shining, the birdies are chirping, and there are dresses to be bought!" ... and so went the last twenty minutes of my class... sigh.
(3:25p.m. Thursday afternoon) My mom, my sis-in-law (Carly), and another bridesmaid (Anita) leave for the store even though the appointment is only at 4:00p.m., but hey, never hurts to look around.
The door clangs, and high school drama queens flood the store like crazed vultures fighting for the last piece of meat (meaning most expensive designer prom dress...typical). I wouldn't have minded if we decided at that very moment to turn our rears around and bee-line back to the car, but NO! I must face the facts and get it over with. I know, my attitude at first was a bit of a downer, but just wait, it gets better.
Alyssa, the consultant, greets us with her baby belly in tow (SO cute), and ask the typical questions: What do you like? Strapless? Lace? Beading? Tulle? My head begins to spin...A-line? Mermaid? Etc? Etc? At that moment, the only thing I could manage to pull out of the hat, "I don't like beading, spaghetti straps, and A-line skirts.... I think". Brilliant, I know. It's OK, you're allowed to laugh.
We begin to pull dress after dress after dress, and the dressing room grows smaller as the tulle and taffeta paint the walls a claustrophobic white... or ivory, off-white, whatever your prefer. Time to try them on.
The first one I chose was not even a contender. The second, not so sure either. Beautiful, lacey, mermaid with some slight beading on the sides. I must admit: I looked fabulous, but so not like the young, fun bride I wanted to be. OK, onto the third (drum roll please.....do it, you know you want to).
Everything about it was perfect, I mean NO QUESTION perfect. Exactly what I was looking for. Mom knew it. Carly and Anita knew it. Even Alyssa. I'm leaving it as a surprise to you because my fiance does read this, and there is no way he is getting any hints. Love you, dear! So there it was, but just to be sure, a few more dresses wouldn't hurt anybody.
Nothing compared. Some didn't even get zipped up before they were nixed. The decision was easy. I had said Yes! to the Dress
So as I reach into my purse for my camera, I grabbed my cell phone instead, only to notice that my maid of honor (Carissa) had texted me saying, "Have fun :) remember whichever one you like i like too" Well, if any of you have a heart, you know what comes next. Tears.

Good news, readers! I have finally booked the photographer I wanted! So, don't forget: a bride can always manage to get her way with a dash of stubbornness and a pinch of nagging :) Not to say I annoyed the poor guy, but I at least got him thinking about what's really important...my wedding vs. his friend's... just kidding! :P Well, I imagine you are all just DYING to know who the poor sucker is, so here's a link to his website: http://www.seeandbelieve.ca/ Enjoy!
In other news, I booked my first dress appointment today, and I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a scary thing. I've been told that a girl dreams about this day more than her actually wedding, but all I can think about is a monster made of tulle, organza, and lace, which ends up swallowing me whole as soon as I set foot into the store! This experience, I fear, will be the most daunting one. So wish me luck as I venture into a foreign world of satin unfamiliarity!
